A Graveside Funeral service and Interment for Mack R. Taylor, 95, will be Thursday, October 27, 2022 at Roselawn Cemetery in Athens, Alabama, with Bro. Ellis Wayand officiating and Peck Funeral Home directing. No Visitation is scheduled.
Mr. Taylor died on Monday, October 24, 2022 at his son Alan’s residence. He was born August 7, 1927, in Morgan County, to Charlie D. Taylor and Sallie Sulcer Taylor.
He started at a young age in retail at David Lee’s in Athens, then on to Dunavants in Huntsville. He then went from Roger’s Department Store as a buyer and manager in Florence and to another opportunity in the late 1960’s to Mays and Jones Department Store in Pell City as a buyer and manager there. From there the owner of Maison Morgan needed him so his family moved to Hartselle to manage and ultimately he became the sole Owner and CEO of the business. He loved the retail business with all of his heart, but always put his family and special friends first.
Preceding him in death were his wife: Opal Marie Taylor, a son: Ned Taylor, his parents, and three brothers.
