duickMack Arthur “Duck” Patterson, age 74, passed away Thursday, May 28, 2015. Visitation will be Sunday, 6 p.m. to 9 p.m., at Greenview Funeral Home, Florence. The body will lie in state Monday morning from 9 a.m. until 10 a.m. with the funeral beginning at 10 a.m. in the Greenview Memorial Chapel.
Mr. Patterson was preceded in death by his parents, Harold and Bama, and brothers, Ulva, Jim, Grady, and Frank, and brother-in-law, T.A Pruitt.
Survivors blessed by his memory are his cherished wife of 50 years, Bonnie; children, Susanne Highland (Frank), Phillip Patterson (Karen), and Kyle Story (Nahoko); and grandchildren, Adam and Tess Brink, Lydia and Nathan Patterson, and Garrett and Carlie Highland. Also, his beloved sisters, Emogene Pruitt and Virginia Parker (Homer), and sisters-in-law, Lou Eva and Rose Patterson.
Duck, as most knew him, was born in Florence Alabama, March 10, 1941. He grew up in the shadow of his parents store in the heart of Zip City. He was a graduate of Rogers High School and became an iron worker. He retired from Reynolds Alloys and spent time enjoying family and friends.
A heartfelt thank you to all those who encouraged the family with cards, visits, calls, and prayers during his time of sickness; it helped us more than you know.
