  Mabel Cramer Profile PhotoMabel L. Cramer was born November 22, 1928 in McNairy County, TN, the daughter of the late Andrew Benton Lawson and Hattie Lee Burress Lawson.

Growing up on a farm in Ramer, TN, she developed a strong foundation rooted in hard work and determination. Her thirst for knowledge led her to graduate from Memphis State with aspirations of shaping young minds as a teacher. However, life took her on a different path, guiding her to a role as an Assistant Agent Secretary with the FBI.

She had lived in Tennessee, Texas, Kentucky, and Georgia. While living in Georgia she crossed paths with William L. Cramer Jr., a man whose adventurous spirit matched her own. Their union on May 3, 1962, marked the beginning of a shared life filled with travels to various corners of the globe.

The echoes of her beloved William’s presence lingered after his passing on March 9, 2005, but Mabel carried forward with grace and resilience. She returned to her roots in McNairy County and became a member of the First Presbyterian Church in Selmer, TN.

She departed this life on June 29, 2024 in Corinth, Mississippi at the age of 95 Years. She is survived by a host of nieces and nephews.

In addition to her husband and parents, Mrs. Cramer was preceded in death by two sisters, Carolyn Brooks, Bonnie Hendrix; three brothers: Andrew Lawson, Walton Lawson, and Buford Lawson.
