Lynn Ray Staggs of Jackson, TN Lynn Ray Staggs, age 71, died Sunday morning, March 14, 2021 at Jackson Madison County General Hospital.

He was born January 22, 1950 in Mercer, TN son of the late Fred and Verniece Staggs. He grew up in Brownsville and was a 1968 graduate of Haywood High School. He attended Memphis State University for a time then began working for Coca-Cola as a route driver and eventually Route Supervisor. He retired from Coca-Cola after 30 years. He then worked in the Meat Department of Walmart for 5 years before his 2nd retirement.

He married Bonita Gordon on August 2, 2014 and they made their home in Jackson. He was a member of the South Jackson Church of Christ.

He enjoyed boxing in his younger years and later as a boxing coach for boys at Youth Town in Pinson. He was also a big wrestling fan. He loved to grow a large vegetable garden each year and was an excellent cook.

He is survived by his wife Bonita Gordon Staggs; two sons Brady Staggs of Medina, TN, Dustin Staggs and wife April of Henning, TN; a stepson David Russell and wife Tammy of Henderson; a god-daughter Beth Phifer of Jackson; six grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren; two brothers Leon Staggs and Roy Wayne Staggs and wife Sandra all of Brownsville, TN; a sister Linda Murphy and husband Danny of Brownsville and a sister-in-law Peggy Staggs of Brownsville.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother James Staggs and a sister Carolyn Staggs.

Funeral Services will be 2:00 PM Wednesday, March 17, 2021 at Shackelford Funeral Directors of Henderson – Crook Avenue Chapel with Ray Pack officiating. Burial will be in Estes Cemetery.

The family will receive friends at Crook Avenue Chapel from 12:00 PM to 2:00 PM Wednesday, March 17.
