Reverend Lynn Graham Marshall, 86, of Ardmore, Tennessee passed away on Sunday, October 20, 2024, at his home.
He was born on September 17, 1938, in Athens, Georgia. At the age of 13, Lynn dedicated his life to full-time Christian service and at the age of 15 answered the call to preach the Gospel of Jesus Christ. He spent the past 48 years in the Ardmore area serving as a pastor to Piney Grove Baptist Church and Concord Baptist Church in Limestone County and Vestavia Hills Baptist Church in Decatur. Prior to that he served churches in Louisiana, Mississippi (Sallis Baptist Church), and Tennessee (First Baptist Benton).
While in high school Lynn joined the U.S. Naval Reserves and was later called to active duty aboard the USS Albermarle. After being honorably discharged from the Navy he attended Carson Newman College in Jefferson City, Tennessee, where he met and married his wife, Faye. He then attended the New Orleans Baptist Theological Seminary where he received a Master of Divinity.
He is preceded in death by his father, Harry Lynn Marshall, and his mother, Sylvia Allene Graham Marshall.
He is survived by his wife, Margaret Faye Rogers Marshall; his sister, Judi Bailey of Chattanooga, TN; three daughters, Lynnette Thomas of Ardmore, AL, Allena (Tony) Fogg of Harvest, AL, and Harriette (Jerry) Glover of Ardmore, TN; grandchildren Joe (Karen) Whitt III, Kaitlynn Hall, Preston (Leah) Fogg, Dylan Whitt, Austin (Emily) Fogg, and Em Hall; great-grandchildren Lila Fogg, Samuel Whitt, Brice Fogg, Clara Fogg, and Sadie Fogg.
Brother Lynn loved people and saw every person as a soul who needed to receive Jesus Christ as their Lord and Savior. He poured his heart into ministering not only to the people of his church, but to the people of his community. At the time of his death, he was an active member of Piney Grove Baptist Church, helping to teach a Sunday School class until he was no longer physically able. He loved his fellow veterans and was active in the Ardmore AL/TN Veterans group.

There will be a visitation for Bro. Lynn Marshall at Piney Grove Baptist Church on Thursday, October 24, 2024, from 11:30 AM until 2:00 PM. A Chapel Service will follow the visitation at 2:00 PM. Burial will follow in Gatlin Cemetery. Rev. Adam Mikel and Bro. Jim Harris will be officiating the service.
Brother Marshall requested that in lieu of flowers donations be made to the mission funds at Piney Grove Baptist Church or Concord Baptist Church.
