Lynn Chou passed asway on December 17, 2020 after a long battle with Alzheimer’s. He was a beloved and devoted husband, father and grandfather who could light up a room with his smile. He enjoyed socializing with friends and traveling with his family. He was an active member of Central Presbyterian Church since 1985 where he enjoyed singing in the choir. Lynn served as President of the Huntsville Chinese Association. He loved spending time gardening and coaching youth soccer.
Lynn was born in Canton, China on February 16, 1933. He graduated from Taiwan National Univ. in Mechanical Engineering. In 1963, he got a MS in Applied Math from Wayne S. Univ., where he met his wife Libby. He earned a Ph. D. in Aeronautical Engineering from Univ. of Tenn. Space Institute in 1972, and retired from NASA MSFC in 1999.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Benvey Chow, and a younger brother, Stephen Chow (Pauline). He is survived by his wife of 53 years, Libby; son, Marvin (Jenny); grandchildren. Jake Skutta, and Rhys Chou; a younger sister, Grace (Fred Wong); a younger brother, Stanley Chou; and many nephews and nieces.
A graveside service will be held at 11 a.m. on Monday, December 28th at Maple Hill Cemetery with Rev. Dr. Randy Jenkins officiating.
In lieu of flowers, please make a donation to the Alzheimer Association or to Central Presbyterian Church.
