Lynda Lloyd Crook New, 82 of Decatur, AL, passed away on January 3, 2025. Visitation will be on Tuesday, January 7, 2025, from 12-1 PM at Roselawn Funeral Home. A Celebration of Life Service will follow at 1 PM with Rev. Alex Beaube, Rev. Charles Boling, and Dr. Kevin Ellington officiating. Private family interment will follow at Roselawn Cemetery.
Lynda is survived by her husband, Dr. T. Gerald New of Decatur, AL, Dr. Troy G. New Jr. (Tracy) of Southlake, TX, Jennifer New Ellington (Kevin) of Canton, GA, Johanna New Simpson (Ryan) of San Antonio, TX, and grandchildren Austin and Caroline Ellington, Preston and Jessica New, Peyton Ellington, Hannah New, Johanna and Riley Landry , Stuart Simpson, Oliva New, and Sarah Simpson.
She is preceded in death by her parents Lloyd & Cupidean Crook of Elba, AL. Lynda was born on May 9, 1942, in Victoria, AL, she was the only child of Lloyd and Cupidean Crook; she graduated from Elba High School in 1960; she also graduated from Auburn University in 1964 with a degree in Secondary Education in Mathematics.
Lynda was a member of the First United Methodist Church of Decatur, a member of the Decatur Junior Service League, and the Morgan County Medical Auxiliary.
She was a dearly loved wife, mother, grandmother and friend.
