Lydia Montijo Hawkins, age 81, of Pickerington, Ohio passed away on Tuesday, April 02, 2024, at Mount Carmel East Hospital.
She was born in San Jose, CA on Thursday, August 27, 1942, to Gabriel Salazar Montijo and Margaret Gomez Montijo.
She leaves to cherish her memories, her daughter, Elizabeth and Clint Knowles; grandsons, Gabriel Wynn and Jen Knowles, Michael Ashton and Breanne Knowles; granddaughter, Elizabeth Brianne and Hayden Gann; great-grandson, Aiden James (AJ) Gann, Troy Keith Gann; nephews, Ricky Reynaga, Benji Garcia, Randy Montijo; nieces, Lisa Marie Montijo, Yolanda Hamm, Roxane Wall, Kelly Montijo Fink, Rhonda Brown; a host of extended family and friends.
She was preceded in death by her father, Gabriel Salazar Montijo; mother, Margaret Gomez Montijo; brothers, “baby” Paul Montijo, Gabriel Montijo Jr., Benjamin Montijo, Jacob Montijo, sister, Naomi Garcia; husband, Henry Lavell Hawkins.
The visitation will be 5 -6:30 p.m. Thursday, April 11, 2024, at Hackleburg Community Church, the service will follow at 6:30 p.m. with Pastor Clint Knowles officiating. Interment at McCurtain Creek Cemetery in Mississippi with a graveside service at 1 p.m. on Friday, April 12, 2024.
