Lydia Gail Stockman, 67, of Cherokee, AL, died June 9, 2015, at her residence. She raised many children who called her “Mama Gail” and she enjoyed crocheting. Visitation is scheduled for 5:00 until 8:00 p.m., Thursday, June 11, at Cutshall Funeral Home in Iuka. Funeral services are scheduled for 1:00 p.m., Friday, June 12, at Asphalt Rock Baptist Church. The body will lie in state one hour prior to service time. Interment will follow in Asphalt Rock Cemetery. Pallbearers include Samuel Stockman, Junior Stockman, Rick Bendall, Eric Weaver, Dan Weaver, Dustin McBrayer, and Shane Dawson. Honorary pallbearers include Junior Williams and Robert Harrison. She is survived by her son, Matthew Stockman (Debra) of Cherokee; one brother, Arthur Weaver (Marlene) of Cherokee, AL; and two grandchildren, Lydia Darlene Stockman and Damien Fuller. She was preceded in death by her husband, Marvin Stockman; her parents, Samuel William and Emmie Mae Malone Weaver; two sisters, Sherry Highfield and Mary Alice Clement; and a brother, Robert Weaver.
