Luther Marion Waldon aka “Luke” of 1570 Lawrence Street East, Russellville, Al.
Passed from this life in the comfort of his home with family at his side on Wednesday November 27, 2024 at 5:15 p.m. Luke battled cancer for four years.
Luke was born in New Hope, Al. In Madison County on November 20, 1949 to Walter Clyde Waldon from Franklin County, Al. and Christine Martin Waldon from Paint Rock, Al.
Luke attended New Hope Elementary & Junior High School in Madison County, Al. and Waco Junior High School in Franklin County Al.
He is a 1969 Graduate of Phil Campbell High School in Franklin County, Al.
Luke graduated from Tennessee Temple Baptist Bible College of Chattanooga, Tennessee in 1976 after a six-year study in Christian Science Theology, and Christian Music.
Luke is survived by his wife Joanne Baker Waldon of Russellville, Al.
He is survived by one brother John Ed Waldon (Brenda) and his two sons Marcus Waldon (Katie), who resides in South Jordon Utah, and Brian Waldon (Melissa) who resides in Hamilton, Al.
Luke was very blessed with 2 grand-daughters Alexus Keely Waldon of Eldorado Arkansas, and Haile Waldon of South Jordon Utah.
Luke leaves to cherish his memory of his stepsons, and step grandchildren, and a host of nieces and nephews.
Luke M. Waldon worked for 40 + years serving the communities of Alabama, Mississippi, & Tennessee as a Pest Control Consultant.
Luke’s passion for music gave him the opportunity to serve and travel as a tenor singer in numerous Southern Gospel groups. He was a very talented singer and musician and had a great passion to compose spiritual music as well and was the composer of numerous beautiful spiritual songs & music.
Luke M. Waldon served as Music Ministry is many Churches through his life span. He and his wife Joanne enjoyed singing duets with beautiful harmony for 15 years.
Luke M. Waldon’s music ministry career began as early as a little boy singing in his parent’s family gospel group along with his older brother John.
Luke Waldon mastered such musical instruments as the Bass guitar, the Dobro, Mandolin, Acoustic guitar, & Piano.
Luke developed a great passion for Bluegrass Gospel Music throughout his lifetime.
He loved attending Bluegrass Festivals near & far with his wife, and Luke loved working in the recording studio as a master of several instruments.
Luke Marion Waldon leaves to cherish his memory of many friends and acquaintances that he made along his life’s journey.

The family of Luther Marion (Luke) Waldon wishes to thank the nurses and staff members of the Hospice of North Alabama who gave such tender dedication and care to him during his battle with Cancer.
We wish to extend our appreciation to all of the doctors and nurses who were dedicated to treating cancer and the patients at the Clearview Cancer Center in Florence, Al.
The visitation will be 1:30– 2:00 p.m. Tuesday, December 03, 2024, Blue Springs Church. Service will be at 2:00 p.m. Hospice Chaplain Tony Johnson officiating the service. The burial will be at Blue Springs Cemetery. The Pallbearers will be Frank Baker, Loyd Baker, Tony Parker, Jerry Chaney, Johnny Waldon and James Waldon, Honorary pallbearers, Janson Cothrum.
