Luther Jackson Barnett, Sr. age 83 of Donaldsonville, GA passed away Sunday, August 13, 2023 at his residence.
A Memorial Service will be held from the graveside at the Shady Grove Baptist Church Cemetery in Phil Campbell, AL on Monday, August 21, 2023 at 4:00 pm.
Born June 15, 1940, in Haleyville, AL, he is the Son of the late Luther William and Leo Irene Barnett and on February 9, 1963 he married Carolyn Vickery who preceded him in death.
L.J. loved life and loved to make everyone around him laugh and smile. He also loved horses, roping steers, and coon hunting, but his greatest joy in life was spending time with his family. He retired from Fountain Trailer Company.
He leaves to cherish his memory his Children, Tammy Cavender, Jacky (Kandy) Barnett, Timothy Keith (Francis) Barnett, 9 Grandchildren, Andy (Sara) Cavender, Somer (Kevin) Waldrep, Luke Barnett, Hope (Dylan) Underwood, Boaz Barnett, Amber Barnett, Hannah Barnett, Tiffany (Michael) Baker, and Timothy (Savannah) Barnett, 11 Great Grandchildren, Kayla, Jessica, James, and Christian Waldrep, John, Colton, and Kelton Cavender, Jackson, Sipsey, and Eli Barnett and Olivia Underwood, and Siblings, Mary Nell Nolan and Sonya Irene (George) Walling. A host of Nieces and Nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Luther and Leo Irene Barnett, Wife, Carolyn Vickery Barnett, Siblings, James William Barnett and Dean Barnett, Son In Law, Anthony Cavender and Brother In law, Buck Nolen.
He will be missed by everyone who knew him.
