Luther Harold Hobson, age 85 of Sheffield, died Thursday, April 24, 2014. His graveside service will be held Saturday, April 26 at 2 p.m. in Oakwood Cemetery, Sheffield. Dr. Jim Thompson will officiate.
Luther was a native of Sheffield and served in the Navy during WWII, and was a member of First Presbyterian Church of Sheffield.
He is survived by his loving wife of sixty four years, Mary Joyce Hobson, son, Terry Hobson (Jill), daughter, Teresa Hobson Hampton (Ron); grandchildren, Bradley Hampton, Brooke Hampton and Blake Hampton.
Pallbearers are David Branscomb, James McCorkle, Danny Cook, Don Ruggles, Bradley Hampton, Blake Hampton, and Karl Bradley.
Honorary pallbearers are Leon Alsbrook, Don Painter and Braxton Ashe.
In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to the First Presbyterian Church of Sheffield or to Hospice of the Shoals.
