Luther Delton Posey, 72, Tuscumbia, AL passed away on Monday, August 22, 2016, at Helen Keller Hospital after an extended illness. There will be an 11:00 a.m. graveside service at Harris Chapel Cemetery, 2745 North Pike Cherokee, AL 35616, on Saturday, August 27, 2016 with Pastor Gatus Cheatham officiating. Morrison’s Funeral Home directing.
Mr. Posey was a lifelong native of Colbert County and a member of the Baptist Church. He enjoyed Alabama Football, great music, watching the weather and helping others. He had a genuine passion for Tuscumbia and especially Spring Park. Mr. Posey is preceded in death by his parents, Luther W. Posey and Hazel Posey and an infant sister.
Survivors include his special friend and caregiver whom he loved dearly, Kathy Jones; son, Jeff Posey and daughter, Laura L Norton (Ben); grandchildren, Elizabeth Posey Neal (Todd), Collin Willis, Kellee Willis, and Luke Posey; brother, Percy Posey (Annabelle).
Pall bearers are his close friends, Roger Moore, John McWilliams, Eugene “Smitty” Smith, Ralton Stancil, Jerry Collinsworth, and Lynn Wilson. Honorary pall bearers are Collin Willis, Luke Posey, Preston Posey, and Dr. Andre’ Taylor.
