Ludene Harrison “Lou” Mills, 72, of Muscle Shoals, passed peacefully at home surrounded by family on Friday, June 30, 2023. Visitation will be Monday, July 3rd, from 10:00 until 11:00 a.m. at Morrison Funeral Home, Tuscumbia. The funeral service will immediately follow in the funeral home chapel with Chad Holder officiating. Interment will be at Colbert Memorial Gardens.
Lou was a native of Selmer, TN but a longtime resident of the Shoals. She was a loving and devoted wife, mother, and grandmother. Her greatest joy was spending time with her grandchildren, whom she adored. Lou was preceded in death by her parents, Troy and Evelyn Harrison of Sheffield, AL.
She is survived by her husband of 53 years, Ronald Mills; children, Brian Mills and wife Terri of Nolensville, TN and Lori Mills Bridgewater and husband Joel of Muscle Shoals, AL; grandchildren, Lauren Mills, Bailee Mills, Troy Mills, Braylon Bridgewater, Brynn Mills, Carson Ware, and Noah Bridgewater; sisters, Mary Harrison, Alice Sanderson, and Joyce Harrison; and nephew, Bradley Harrison.
Friends and family will serve as pallbearers. Troy Mills is an honorary pallbearer.
The family expresses special thanks to the nurses at Amedisys Hospice, especially Jowana Hayes, Lana Woods, Lana Oliver, Paige and Chaplain Scott and the staff at Vanderbilt Hospital.
