Lucy Lois Evans, age 94 of Winchester, passed away peacefully surrounded by her loving family on Wednesday, November 1, 2023, at Southern Tennessee Regional Health Systems. Lois was born on May 20, 1929, in Jackson County, Alabama, to the late Curt and Annie Lucy (Warren) Avans. A dedicated homemaker, she enjoyed singing, sewing quilts, reading, coloring, and tending to her flowers. Lois was a faithful member of the Winchester Holiness Church. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband, Charles Lindbirg Evans; daughter, Henrietta Wills; son-in-law, Paul McGill; and siblings, Jobe, Clark, Charlie, Albert, Willie, Pearl, Edith, Leona and Flossie. Lois is survived by her loving children, Ray (Shirley) Evans, Howard (Debbie) Evans, Jeraldine (Tom) McBee, Regina McGill and Jackie (Tami) Evans; son-in-law, Cliff Wills; grandchildren, Wanda, Donna, Danny, Aimee, Johnny, Angie, Rusty, Charity, DeWayne, Lanise, Michael, Chad, Deven, Grant, Scott and Mandy; forty-two great-grandchildren, several great-great grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews. Visitation will be held on Friday, November 3, 2023, from 4:00pm -8:00pm at Moore-Cortner Funeral Home and then again on Saturday, November 4, 2023, from 11:00am – 1:00pm at Winchester Holiness Church. Funeral service for Mrs. Lois will be held on Saturday, November 4, 2023, at 1:00pm at Winchester Holiness Church with Bro. Rodger Paradise and Bro. Ray Davis officiating. Interment will follow in Winchester Memorial Park with grandsons, Danny, Johnny, Rusty, DeWayne, Michael, Chad, Grant and Scott all serving as pallbearers.
