Lucille Bassler Romero of Guntersville, Alabama, originally of Lafayette, Louisiana, passed away on Saturday morning. She was 72.
Mrs. Romero was an outgoing person who had a wonderful sense of humor. She was a Christian who loved those around her and was an especially devoted mom and “Memaw”.
She was preceded in death by her mother, Rita Bourque Romero; her son-in-law, Steve Tucker; her first husband, Jack Bassler Jr. and her second husband, Roy Romero; Her sister, Linda Pellerin; Her brother, Ewell Sittig; her brother, Robert “Tinee” Bourque; her brother, Ray Trahan.
Surviving family members include her children: Michael & Denise Bassler of Breaux Bridge, Louisiana; Liz Tucker & Pete Davis of Guntersville, Alabama, and Floyd & Allison Bassler of Cleveland, Tennessee; Her grandchildren: Cody Tucker (Courtney), Michael Bassler Jr (Nicole), Ashton Nowlin (Christian), Abigail Bassler, Ashley Romero (Jay), Lauren Duhon (Katelyn), Darrin Faulk, Conner Bassler (Tyra), Colton Bassler, Cameron Bassler, Carson Bassler, Deacon Bassler, John Seay, Carter Seay; She is also survived by nine great-grandchildren, her sisters, Deanna Romero (Ronald) and Sandra Ledger; her brother, Floyd Bourque (Dana); her sister-in-law, Rita Trahan, and a host of nieces, nephews, other loved ones and friends.
The family will receive friends on Tuesday from 11am until 1pm at Hazel Green Funeral Home. Funeral services will follow at 1pm at the funeral home. Afterwards, burial will be in Concord Cemetery.
