LoydFuneral for Loyd Ward, 91, of Decatur will be Wednesday, May 15, 2013, at 2 p.m. at Roselawn Funeral Home Chapel with Jeff Sellers officiating. Burial will be in Decatur City Cemetery. Visitation will be from noon to 2 p.m. at the funeral home.
Mr. Ward, who died Sunday, May 12, 2013, at his home, was born August 20, 1921, in Hartselle to Bert and Dollie Ward. He was a member of Ninth Street United Methodist Church. He was a World War II bomber pilot (Mighty Eighth 489th Group H) and Korean War recon pilot. Mr. Ward was retired from the United States Postal Service and a retired real estate broker. He was preceded in death by three brothers, Ray Ward, Gene Ward and Bert Ward Jr.

He is survived by his wife of 67 years, Hazel Brooks Ward; one daughter, Mrs. Aaron Wilson (Penny) of Double Springs; two grandchildren, Michael Clinton Ward and Stacey Celeste Wilson; and one great-grandchild, Logan Wesley Ward.

Pallbearers will be Mike Ward, Logan Ward, Joe Ward, Jeff Parker, Aaron Wilson and Samuel Peek.
