Loyd Glen Gant 90 of Fackler went home to his Heavenly Father on Thursday, July 18th, 2024.

He leaves behind his daughter Gina (Randy) Moody, grandson, Hunter (Audrey) Conn and great granddaughter, Hallie Conn. One sister Kathy Wondell. Several nieces and nephews.

Mr. Gant was preceded in death by his loving and devoted wife of 57 years, Jane. His parents, Joseph “Joe” and Nellie Gant, brother, JL Gant, and sister Thelma Wright.

Mr. Gant was a long-time deacon of Harmony Baptist Church and retiree of the United Mine Workers of America. Anyone who knew Glen knew he loved his beagles and rabbit “hunting”. He loved gardening and did so until he was 89. He will be deeply missed in his community.

Funeral services with be held at 12:00 p.m. on Friday, July 19th, 2024 with Rev. Dale Haynes officiating. Burial will follow in Harmony Cemetery. The family will receive friends on Friday, July 19th, 2024 from 11:00 a.m. until 12:00 p.m.

The family would like to say a special thank you to Amber, Christina, Cindy, Beth, and Angie with Hospice of North Alabama and Katrina and Kelly of CenterWell Home Health as well as Dr. Andrew Hodges and the staff at HealthPoint Primary Care. Your kindness and compassion were a great comfort as we traversed this season with Dad.
