Loyce Fennell Howell, Jr. affectionately known as “Bug”, age 79 of Tuscumbia, passed away on Friday, March 22, 2024, surrounded by his loving family. There will be a visitation on Monday, March 25, 2024, from 12:00-2:00 p.m. at Morrison Funeral Home in Tuscumbia with a funeral service following at 2:00 p.m. in the funeral home chapel. Shane Swinney will officiate the service. The Burial will follow in Colbert Memorial Gardens with military honors.
Bug was a lifelong resident of Tuscumbia. He was an Army National Guard Veteran and a member of Launch Point Church in Tuscumbia. He was also known as “Wolf Man” by those he worked with in construction and “Red Rock” was how he was known through the air waves of CB Radio. He was preceded in death by his daughter, Contrelia “Tetter” Lyman; parents, Loyce and Mary Howell; sisters, Robbie Armstrong and Patricia Bump; and grandson, Austin Freemon.
Bug is survived by his children, David Howell (Vicky), Martha Stansell (Randall), Pam Moore, Jason Moore (Buffie), Laura Lee Willingham (Greg), Sherry Keenum (Danny), Michelle Keenum (Chris), and Hollie Howell; brother, Bobby Howell; and a host of grandchildren and great grandchildren.
Pallbearers will be J.T. Triplett, D.J. Bryant, Richard Howell, Bradley Bump, David Hollander, and Keven Hollander. Honorary pallbearers are his grandsons.
