Lowell Alan Fuhrman, age 76 of Southside, Alabama, passed away on Thursday, April 27, 2023. He was born November 11, 1946 in Gadsden,Alabama. Visitation will be at Collier Butler Funeral Home on Sunday, April 30th from 5pm to 7pm. Funeral services will be held at 11:00AM on Monday, May 1st, 2023 at Collier Butler Funeral Home. Burial will follow at Crestwood Cemetery. Mr. Fuhrman passed away at St. Vincent Hospital in Birmingham, surrounded by his family and Pastor, due to complications from surgery. Reverend Michael Jackson and special friend Lauil Thompson will officiate, singing by Bill Drummons.
Mr. Fuhrman is a native of Southside, AL. He was a 1965 graduate of Southside High School. He served his country in the USAF from 1967 to 1971, serving 18 months of his service in the Philippines. His rank was Sergeant. He retired from Goodyear in 2003. He also worked at Darden Rehabilitation Services. Mr. Fuhrman was an avid Alabama Football, Nascar Racing and Atlanta Braves fan. He loved sitting in his chair on the front porch with his sweet tea and waving at everyone.
Mr. Fuhrman was preceded in death by his parents, Paul and Nettie Fuhrman; in-laws, Mack and Wanda Parker; and granddaughter, Mattie Grace Garmon.
He is survived by his wife of 53 years, Marianne Parker Fuhrman; daughters, April (Chad) Roberson, Alicia (Michael) Garmon, and Andrea Fuhrman (Phillip King); grandchildren, Haleigh Roberson (Blake Stovall), Anthony Roberson (Clara Ryan), Dakota Garmon (Abagail Reeves), Emily Garmon (Jacob Walls), Gage Fuhrman (Anna Rakestraw), Justin Price (Adriana), and Quintyn Turner (Alisha); great grandaughter due July 4th; granddogs, Isabel and Dolly; and chosen family, Scott and Karen Thomas, Jordan, Austin, Lily and Jack Baker, and Lauren and Chris Findly.
Pallbearers will be the grandsons.
Honary pallbearers will be Dr. Mark Parker, 4th floor surgery staff at St. Vincents, Patricia Christopher’s Sunday School Class, Southside High School class of 1965, his Air Force Buddies, our neighbors, his cousins.
