Lovic Culver “L.C” Smith, 93, of Florence passed away on February 27, 2025 at his residence. He worked as a carpenter for the Florence Street Department and was a member of Magnolia Church of Christ. He proudly received a certificate of appreciation for the work he did restoring the Florence Wagon from Florence Wagon Works, owned by the city of Florence.
A visitation will be on Saturday March 8, 2025 from 1:00-2:00 pm at Greenview Funeral Home. A funeral service will follow in the funeral home chapel with Grant Azbell and Billy Ray Warren officiating. Burial will be in Pisgah Cemetery.
Mr. Smith is preceded in death by his wife, Ruth Smith; his sister, Margaret Smith Clemons; and brother, James Welborn Smith.
He is survived by son, Dennis Smith (Brenda); daughter, Susan Kay Smith; brother Fred William Smith, Jr.; grandchildren, Noelle Smith, Dannon Smith (Laurel), John Swinea (Michelle), Daniel Brian Swinea, Justin Swinea, and Cody Ringelstein (Brandy); and numerous great grandchildren.
Pallbearers will be Dannon Smith, Justin Swinea, Westley Hayes, Cody Ringelstein, John Swinea, and Dennis Smith.
The family would like to recognize Lifeguard Ambulance Service, Slade Sartain, and the medical staff for giving Mr. Smith every opportunity they were able.
