Lounez Lewis Scrivner

Another child of God has gone to her heavenly home! Sis. Lounez Lewis Scrivner realized the promises of her faith and met her Savior face to face on Wednesday morning, January 19, 2022 from her longtime residence in Chickasaw County.  She was 79.  Lounez was born in the Chalk Bluff/Gooseneck community in Chickasaw Co. on Sept. 16, 1942 to the late Johnie Lee Lewis and Vicie Leona Wooten Lewis.  She grew up in the country and graduated from Okolona High School.  She married Freddie Scrivner on July 19, 1963 in Amory, a marriage of 58 years. Very gifted in organization and bookkeeping, Lounez chose to attend Draughn’s Business College. She first worked as a seamstress for Delta Trousers.  Lounez later worked as an assistant to the late Sid Whitlock in Okolona. She spent the next 15 years as secretary/ bookkeeper at Kent’s Hog Farm in Okolona.  Her most rewarding calling was fulfilled when she became Pastor of Pleasant Grove Church of God of Prophecy in Aberdeen where she was a spiritual strength and lived a purposed filled life serving her congregation for 22 years.  Sis. Lounez  worked hard, lived honestly and enjoyed a long life characterized by complete devotion to God, family and  her community and left a legacy of faithfulness that will long be an example for all to follow.

A Homegoing service Celebrating her life will be held at 2 PM Tuesday, January 25, 2022 at Bethany Church of God of Prophecy on Hwy 32 west in Okolona with burial to follow in Lee Memorial Park.  Visitation will be from Noon-service time Tuesday, 1/25/22 at the Church.  Holland Funeral Directors-Okolona Chapel is honored to be serving their friends.

Sis. Lounez is survived by her husband, Freddie Scrivner of Okolona; her children, Nerissa Lenore Scrivner Aldridge (Ricky) of Calhoun, Ga.  and Angela Hope “Angi” Scrivner of Okolona.  grandchildren, Jessica and Stephanie and their families.  Her extended Lewis family and her bonus family of Scrivner’s ,and a world of friends.
