Louise McClain Banks, 94, of Decatur passed away Monday, Nov. 16, 2015, at Riverside Assisted Living. Mrs Banks was born Nov. 10, 1921 in Anderson, South Carolina, to David Willis McClain and Ruth Bush McClain.
She was a member of the First United Methodist Church. She was a former Central Bank employee, sales clerk at Parisian in Decatur and a homemaker. She was preceded in death by her husband, Robert Ragland Banks; her parents; her brother, Ned McClain and sister, Rebecca Benjamin.
Survivors include her daughter, Nancy Banks Murphree and husband, John; grandchild, Jody Banks Murphree and his wife, Andrea; great- grandchildren, Banks Murphree, Mary Reese Murphree and Owen Murphree; daughter, Betty Lou Wicker; brothers, Randall McClain and wife Dorothy Jeanne, of Anderson, S.C., and Kenneth McClain and wife Tommie, of Greenville, S.C.; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Graveside service will be Friday, Nov. 20, 2015, at 11 a.m. at Decatur City Cemetery with Reverend Jack Lovelace officiating. Special thanks to the staff of Riverside Assisted Living. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial donations to the Decatur Senior Center, 221 Memorial Dr. S.W. Decatur, AL 35601 or your favorite charity.
