 Louise Curtis Whitfield, 94, of Iuka, MS, died Monday, May 27, 2019, at the Carrington House in Iuka. Mrs. Whitfield was a member of North Crossroads Community Church. She retired from Genesco after 33 years of employment. She enjoyed cooking for her family. She is survived by one daughter, Theresa Cutshall of Iuka; two sons, Joe Whitfield (Carolyn) of Baldwyn, and Jack Whitfield of Iuka; three grandchildren, Trey Cutshall (Dena) of Ringgold, GA, Tiffany Lowrey of Iuka, and Whitney Whitfield of Iuka; and five great-grandchildren, Hogan Cutshall, Cassidy Lowrey, Cooper Lowrey, Chloe Cutshall, and Eli Whitfield. She was preceded in death by her husband, Avon Whitfield; her parents, Millard and Elsie Bonds Curtis; a great-grandchild, Austin Cole Lowrey; and a brother, Virgil Curtis. Cutshall Funeral Home of Iuka, MS is entrusted with arrangements. Funeral services are scheduled for 2:00 p.m., Wednesday, May 29, at Cutshall Funeral Home Chapel in Iuka, officiated by Bro. Bobby Christian and Bro. Roger Wood. Interment will follow in Oak Grove Cemetery. Pallbearers include Trey Cutshall, Hogan Cutshall, Chris Lowrey, Richard Spears, Freeman Medley, and Steve Barnett. Honorary pallbearers include Cooper Lowrey and Eli Whitfield. Visitation is scheduled for 5:00 until 8:00 p.m., Tuesday, May 28, at Cutshall Funeral Home in Iuka. Memorials may be made to the charity of the donor’s choice. The family would like to thank the Carrington House staff and Kindred Hospice for their care.
