Louise Bullard Dotson – Obituary

Louise Bullard Dotson, 84, of Burnsville, MS, died Wednesday, January 13, 2016, at Tishomingo Manor Nursing Home. Mrs. Dotson was a member of Berea Church of Christ since 1958, where she taught Sunday School and Vacation Bible School. She was a retired Burnsville School teacher and bus driver. She enjoyed writing children’s books, and was a caregiver for many in her family. Mrs. Dotson also enjoyed crocheting and gardening, but her family and church were her whole life. Visitation is scheduled for 5:00 until 9:00 p.m., Friday, January 15, at Berea Church of Christ, and will continue until service time on Saturday. Funeral services are scheduled for 2:00 p.m., Saturday, January 16, at Berea Church of Christ, officiated by Jim Estes and Haskell Sparks. Interment will follow in Patrick Cemetery. Pallbearers include Chris McMeans, Brett McMeans, Richard Williams, Bud Dotson, Wes Dotson, and William Wright. Cutshall Funeral Home of Iuka, MS is entrusted with arrangements. She is survived by two daughters, Linda Wixom (Rick) and Shirley Venatta (Greg); two sons, Ricky Dotson (Jane) and Timothy Dotson (Amy); a sister, Moise Johnson; thirteen grandchildren; twenty-three great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild. She was preceded in death by her husband, Richard H. Dotson, Jr.; her parents, Pony and Edith Bullard; a daughter, Patsy Wright; a grandchild, Stefan Pony Dotson; and two brothers, Pony Edward Bullard and Tommy Bullard.
