Louis Maples Haney Jr., 88, of Athens passed away April 24, 2023, at Huntsville Hospital. Mr. Haney was born March 27, 1935, to Louis and Bessie Compton Haney.
Mr. Haney is survived by his wife, Linda Burgreen Haney; son, Adam (Shelly) Haney; brothers, Leon (Ann) Haney and Merritt “Tink” (Sharon) Haney; sisters, Jerre (Freddie) Burgreen and Faye (Gary) Kent; granddaughter, Peyton Haney; brother-in-law, Stanley Menefee; as well as a large host of loving family and friends.
He is preceded in death by his parents and one sister, Wanda Menefee.
Visitation will be Saturday April 29th, 2023, at Tanner United Methodist Church from 11am-2pm. Service will be at 2pm with burial to follow in Roselawn Cemetery.
Mr. Haney was a longtime tractor puller. He enjoyed spending time on the Elk river and above all spending time with his granddaughter.
