Louella “Mama Lou” Lovell Whitehead – Obituary

louellaLouella “Mama Lou” Lovell Whitehead, 97, of Rogersville died Saturday, April 4th, 2015 at Lauderdale Christian Nursing Home. She was a member of Rogersville Church of Christ where she was a bible study teacher for 45 years. She was a great cook, seamstress and gardener.
Visitation will be Tuesday from 11 – 12 at Rogersville Church of Christ. Funeral service will follow immediately at the church with Alex Bayes officiating. Burial will be in Civitan Cemetery.
Mrs. Whitehead was preceded in death by her parents, Robert & Oma Lovell; husbands, John “Tubby” Owen and Tige Whitehead; brothers, Jim & Andrew Lovell; sisters, Tennie Owens, Adell Coates, Ola Mae Skinner and Grateful Young; stepchildren, Dimple Romine and Allen Owen. She is survived by her step-sons, Almon Whitehead and Bobby (June) Whitehead; sister, Elza Lemay; special girls who Mama Lou loved as daughters, Anisa (Jeff) Thompson and Alison (Tim) Walton; dear friends, Shelby & Dude Weathers, Cecil & Lily Hudson, Jill & Linda Perry and Alice Ezell; numerous nieces and nephews.
The family would like to thank the caretakers and Lauderdale Christian Nursing Home for their great care for Louella.
“Mama Lou” will be missed by her many friends and community.
