Lou Rossignolo, 86 of Athens, passed away on Monday, November 27th, 2023, at Athens Limestone Hospital. Mr. Rossignolo was born Luigi Rossignuolo, in Valguarnera, Sicily, on May 15th, 1937, to Salvatore Rossignuolo and Maria Catalfamo Rossignuolo.
Mr. Rossignolo is survived by his children Barry Rossignolo, Bruce Rossignolo, and Ginny McAdams; sisters Teresa, Joanne and Rita; and special friends Jerry and Jane McKee.
He is preceded in death by his parents; wife Celia Kay Rossignolo; and sister Millie.
After his father died while serving in World War II, Mr. Rossignolo immigrated with his mother and sister Teresa from Sicily to the United States in 1947. As was common with immigration through Ellis Island at the time, the spelling of his first and last name was altered in translation. He and his wife were long-time members of Round Island Baptist Church. He loved his three shih tzu dogs and enjoyed his time with friends at the Athens Senior Center. He will be sorely missed by those who knew him
