Lottie Bernice Mitchell, 84, of Corinth, MS, passed away surrounded by family on Monday, April 11, 2016 at Magnolia Regional Health Center. She was born in Rienzi, MS on January 6, 1932 to the late Jake and Dorothy Glen Brooks Stewart. Bernice was a faithful member of Pleasant Hill Pentecostal Church, where she rejoiced in her faith with her church family. She enjoyed spending time outdoors working in her flowers and gardening and spending time with her beloved family, especially her grandchildren and great grandchildren. Whether Bernice was in her garden or with her family she was consistently working to make the world a more beautiful place. Visitation is scheduled from 5-9 PM Wednesday, April 13, 2016 and from 11 AM till service time Thursday, April 14, 2016 at Pleasant Hill Pentecostal Church. A celebration of Bernice’s life will be held on Thursday, April 14, 2016 at 1 PM at Pleasant Hill Pentecostal Church officiated by Rev. Mike Lee and Rev. Dewayne Kirk. Interment will follow at Forrest Memorial Park. Pallbearers include Heath Davis, Clay Davis, Patrick Carpenter, Blake Mitchell, Justin Mitchell and Jeremy Epley. Honorary pallbearers include Caleb Davis, Kody Davis, Dewayne Killough Jr. Tony Kirk II, Curtis Brawner and Austin Brawner. Magnolia Funeral Home is entrusted with the arrangements. Those left to honor Bernice’s memory include her daughters: JoAnn Gardner and husband Mike of Pascagoula, MS and Judy Crabb and husband Randall of Corinth, MS; her son: Ernie Mitchell and wife Sherry of Corinth, MS; seven grandchildren: Heath Davis, Clay Davis, Holly Killough and husband Dewayne, Heather Carpenter and husband Patrick, Blake Mitchell and wife Angie, Angela Epley and husband Jeremy and Justin Mitchell; eight great-grandchildren: Caleb and Kody Davis, Grace and Sadey Killough, Madalyn and Colby Carpenter and Alex and Bentley Mitchell; her brothers: Oscar “Monk” Stewart and wife Dade, Bobby Stewart and wife Kathryn, Jerry Stewart and Daniel Stewart; her sisters: Edna Rogers and Alline Hopper and husband T.A.; several nieces, nephews, other relatives and a host of friends. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband of 43 years: James “Crip” Mitchell, her brother: William Thomas Stewart and by her sisters: Dorothy Stewart and Louise Davis.
