Lori Sadler WimmerLori Sadler Wimmer, 46, of Huntsville, passed away Saturday, June 4, 2022. Lori was born on June 30, 1975 and was preceded in death by her father Bernard Sadler.

Lori is survived by her loving husband, Scott A. Wimmer; stepson, Zachary Wimmer; mother, Peggy B. Sadler; sister, Jana S. Whittle; niece, Audrey Whittle; and nephew, Zachary Whittle. She also leaves behind close family members including an aunt, cousins and her many friends.

She graduated from Huntsville High School in 1993 and went on to receive her Bachelor’s in Education at the University of Alabama in Birmingham in 1997.  She also received a Master’s at the University of Southern Mississippi and her Master’s in Library Science from the University of Alabama in 2000.

Lori was a lifelong educator and worked in both public and school libraries.  She had a passion for bringing access to reading and education to people from all walks of life and also spent time teaching in struggling school districts.

She made friends everywhere she went and if you spent time with her you always came away with a smile on your face.  Lori was affectionately known as the “social director” of the family as she always brought people together for birthdays and other joyful celebrations.  She had a cheerful and vivacious spirit, and infectious laugh, and a childlike sense of wonder – remaining and avid Dr. Seuss fan throughout her life.

As a travel lover, she had the opportunity to visit many exciting places, including the Grand Canyon, France, Germany, the UK and Hawaii.  Lori always loved otters and recently fulfilled a lifelong dream when she visited an otter sanctuary and spent time with her furry friends up close.  She loved animals of all kinds and had many pets throughout the years including her dog Oreo who remains behind.

Visitation will be Tuesday, June 7th from 12:30 – 2:00 PM at Berryhill Funeral Home.  Service will follow at 2:00 with Rev. Jonathan Yarboro officiating.  Burial will be in Maple Hill Cemetery.
