Diann Wilson Thompson Profile PhotoLoretta Diann Wilson Thompson, 65, resident of Lynnville, passed away peacefully at Maury Regional Medical Center on Thursday, June 6, 2024, after a lengthy battle with cancer.

Born in Sullivan, Indiana on June 14, 1958, Diann was the daughter of the late Mary Owens and Perry G. Wilson. She was married to the love of her life, Robert Thompson, for 35 years.

Diann was a truck driver and later long-time waitress who loved getting to know people. Her favorite moments included time spent with her family, especially her children and grandchildren, her fur-babies who she treated as though they were human, playing rummy with friends, playing Bingo, and listening to music. Her greatest legacy will be remembered in the kindness and love she showed to all of God’s creation, even if it was the possums, racoons, birds, deer, and the occasional foxes that called her back porch home. Everyone who had the pleasure of knowing Diann, knew we had found a rare, special gift in her friendship. One of her favorite characters, Winnie the Pooh, said it best, “How lucky am I to have something that makes saying goodbye so hard.”

In addition to her husband, Diann is survived by daughters: Angie Rindels and Brandi (Chris) Thompson Burns; sons: Will (Sherry) Thompson; sisters: Sherry Wilson Byers and Cindy Wilson Anderson; brothers: William Wilson, Robert Wilson, Perry “PeeWee” (Carolyn) Wilson and Mike (Kim) Wilson. She is also survived by nine grandchildren and a host of nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents, Diann was preceded in death by a sister, Tonia Wilson.

The family will celebrate Diann’s life at a date to be announced later. Oakes & Nichols Funeral Directors are assisting the family with arrangements.
