Lorene Jones Ruble, 83 of Haleyville, AL and formerly of Falls Mills, VA, went home to be with the Lord on Friday, July 28, 2023. Born in Whitewood, VA, she was the daughter of the late McKinley and Nora Lee Horn Jones. She was a Christian lady who loved the Lord and attended the First Baptist Church of Haleyville, AL. On the night before her Homegoing, Lorene told her daughter she was a “Daughter of the King.” She was passionate about her family and loved her grandchildren. In her younger years, she enjoyed hiking and hunting. Gardening flowers and vegetables was something she enjoyed doing. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband: Harold D. Ruble; her siblings: Wynonna “Sissy” White, Kenneth Jones, Chester Jones and Clifford Jones.
She will be lovingly missed by her daughters: Bonita Shillingburg and husband, Don of Princeton, WV and Wanda Byrd and husband, Dennis of Haleyville, AL; brothers: Eugene Jones of Bastian, VA, Curbie Jones of Falls Mills, VA and Norman “Ralph” Jones of FL; grandchildren: Joseph Daly and wife, Ana, Daniel Daly and wife, Evhan, Scott Byrd and wife, Dan and Angie Hill; great-grandchildren: Skylar Daly, Elaina Daly and Danielle Daly; 5 additional step great grandchildren; 3 great great-grandchildren; a host of nieces and nephews.
A service to celebrate Lorene’s life will be held Tuesday, August 01, 2023 at 12:00 P.M. at Dudley Memorial Chapel with Pastor Dan Thyng officiating. Burial will follow at Maple Hill Cemetery. Family and friends will serve as pallbearers.
Friends may visit with the family on Tuesday at the funeral home from 11:00 A.M. until the hour of the service.
