Lorena C. Johnson passed away Monday. She retired from NASA after 35 years of service and was a lifelong member of Mt. Zion Baptist Church.
Mrs. Johnson was preceded in death by her husband of 63 years, Hallman Johnson; brothers, Nick A. Cassenta and wife, Frances, and Santo L. Cassenta. Survivors include niece, Janice Cassenta; nephew, Joseph Cassenta (Patti); several cousins and many lifelong friends. Mrs. Lorena was loved by all who knew her, and she never met a stranger.
A graveside service will be held at 11 a.m. on Friday, November 22 at Huntsville Memory Gardens with Dr. Kevin Moore and Bro. David Cochran officiating.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Mt. Zion Baptist Church General Fund, or the U.S. Veteran’s Memorial Museum.
