Lonnie Newton McClusky Jr., 93, of Huntsville passed away resting in his sleep. He was a lifelong resident of Madison County and a devoted member of The First Baptist Church of Huntsville. He was an honest, hardworking man who loved to repair and modify things. He loved electronics and made his profession doing that hobby. He graduated from The University of Alabama and enlisted in The United States Air Force and was discharged as a Captain. He immediately went to work on Redstone Arsenal as an Electronics Engineer. After many devoted years of work, he retired to pursue his hobby of tinkering with electronics and investments.
He was preceded in death by parents, Lonnie N. McClusky Sr. and Ethel R. McClusky; wife, Ruby P. McClusky, and sister, Louise M. Ennis. He is survived by nephews, Billy McClusky Ennis and Richard Newton Ennis; 2 great nieces and 1 great nephew; 3 brothers in law, and their families; and many lifelong friends. A special friend, Maureen Roberts, is recognized for her companionship. He adored his neighbors Barbara Little and Cindy Roberts who ensured he had good food, fellowship and transportation. A special thanks for the tender and devoted care provided by Signature Health Care of Teakwood and Hospice Care of North Alabama.
A graveside service will be held at Maple Hill Cemetery at 2:00 p.m., Sunday, September 10, 2023. In lieu of flowers, the family requests a donation to Hospice of North Alabama or a charity of your choice.
