Lonnie “Joe” Hodge – Obituary

Lonnie-Hodge-1467731772Lonnie “Joe” Hodge, 70 of Lewisburg, passed away on Sunday, July 3. Joe was born in Smithville, Tennessee to the late Samuel Walker & Evelyn Lucille Hodge. He was married to Margie Louise Ethridge-Hodge in 2011. They were together for 21 years. Joe was of the Baptist faith. He was a very hard worker and worked as a carpet installer. He was a jokester. His granddaughter remembers that there was never a dull moment with him around. Joe loved his grandchildren and great-grandchildren. He enjoyed being outside, fishing, and loved animals.

The funeral service for Joe will be Friday, July 8, at Williams Funeral Home in Columbia at 2:00 PM with Bro. Mike Giles officiating. Burial will follow in Polk Memorial Gardens. Visitation for family and friends will be Thursday, July 7, from 4-8 PM at the funeral home.

Joe is survived by: his wife, Margie Hodge; nine children: Beverly Crosslin, Tandy Pigg, Peggy Deason, Sheila Hightower, Tony Harris, Jerry Harris, David Carter, Robert Hodge, and Bonnie Martin; 26 grandchildren; 35 great grandchildren; one great-great grandchild; brothers: Samuel, Gary, and Donald Hodge; sisters: Shirley Vaughn, Sandra Holman, and Debra Endsley. Joe was preceded in death by his son, Hershel Edward Harris (Bubba).

Pallbearers for the service include: J.R. Harris, Jessie Harris, Brent Newcomb, Lil Bubba Harris, Mark Deason, and Tony Harris. Honorary pallbearers will be Jerry Harris and Nathan Dial.
