Mr. Lonnie Gregory, age 82, of the New Friendship community of Union Grove, passed away on Tuesday, July 9, 2024 at Folsom Center (Southern Care Hospice) in Cullman, AL. Lonnie was born March 31, 1942 in Marshall County, AL. to Ollie Lee Gregory and Hattie Stallings Gregory. He had worked for Pittsburg Paint & Glass (PPG) as a Manager in the Mixed Ink Department.
Lonnie kept himself busy by doing the things he enjoyed which involved continuous yard work included cutting bushes and gardening. He was a huge Alabama Fan and loved listening to Blue Grass, Country and Gospel music.
Lonnie is survived by his significant other, Rebecca D. “Becky” Cleghorn; brothers, Edward Gregory (Rhonda) and Therlon Gregory (Kathy Owens); sisters, Linda Hayes, Carolyn Smith (Clay) and Judy Gregory; and a host of nieces, nephews and cousins.
Preceding Lonnie in death includes his parents, Ollie and Hattie Gregory; and his brothers, Bobby Gregory and Harlon Gregory.
Visitation and funeral services have been planned for Saturday, July 13, 2024 at Arab Heritage Memorial Chapel in Arab, Alabama. The family will receive friends and guest for a visitation between the hour of 1:00 and 2:00 p.m. with the funeral service beginning at 2:00. Brother Greg Narrell will officiate. Pallbearers escorting Lonnie to his final resting place in New Friendship Cemetery will be Bradley Gregory, Doug Gregory, Steven Gregory, Kevin Gregory, Michael Gregory and Jason Everett. Serving as honorary pallbearer will be Seth Gregory.
