Lonette Taylor Southward – Obituary

Lonette Taylor Southward, 81, died Tuesday, January 9, 2018 in Corinth, MS. She was born April 28, 1936 in Tishomingo, MS and was a Teacher Assistant at Tishomingo Elementary School. She was a member of Tishomingo Methodist Church.

Per her request to be cremated, her ashes will be buried alongside her husband, Oliver Fairless Southward in Tishomingo City Cemetery. A private family service will be held at a later date. Deaton Funeral Home, Belmont, MS assisted the family.

Survivors are three daughters – Donette Byars (Joe) Winfield, AL, Leigh Goolsby (Michael) Fayetteville, AR and Lisa Rodgers (Lee) Corinth, MS; four grandchildren – Amye Jo Nichols, Tupelo, MS, Catie Rodgers Wigginton, Jake Rodgers and Holden Rodgers, all of Corinth, MS and one great-grandson – Jax Wigginton, Corinth, MS.

She was preceded in death by her husband of fifty-seven years, Fairless Southward, her parents, Gilly and Amye Taylor and a brother, Billie Ray Taylor.

The family would like to express their sincerest appreciation to the amazing staff of Country Cottage Assisted Living, Kare-In-Home Hospice and Dr. Leonard Pratt.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to a charity of your choice.
