Lomax Sawyer, 89, of Jasper, passed peacefully on Tuesday, December 27, 2022, at Merit’s Wesley Hospital ICU in Hattiesburg, MS.
Grover Lomax Sawyer was born October 16, 1933 to Grover and Meda Waid Sawyer of Jasper, Alabama. He married Patricia Ann Mays of Carbon Hill, Alabama on December 31, 1960. Mr. Sawyer was a member of the Sixth Avenue Church of Christ in Jasper.
He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife, Patricia Mays Sawyer; one sister, Debbie Sawyer; and one brother, Ray Sawyer.
He is survived by his two brothers, Jim Sawyer and Dewayne Sawyer; son, Chris Sawyer; daughter-in-law, Laurabeth Doty Sawyer and his three granddaughters, Lauren Sawyer Segars, Hannah Sawyer and Madeline Sawyer and a host of friends.
Visitation will begin at 1:00 PM Friday at the Sixth Avenue Church of Christ. Services will be held at 2:00 PM Friday, December 30, 2022 at the Sixth Avenue Church of Christ for Mr. Lomax Sawyer, 89.
