Lola Christine Hall Kirkland, age 92, died May 7, 2013, at the Rehabilitation and Health Care Center in Baytown, Texas. There will be a graveside service at Walston Cemetery, Monday, May 13, 2013, at 3 p.m. with the Rev. Billy Cagle officiating of Oakland Methodist Church.
She was preceded in death by her husband, John Beverly Kirkland; sons, John Talmadge Kirkland and Raymond Michael Kirkland; father, Ira Talmadge Hall Sr.; mothers, Effie Rickard Hall and Hazel Donaldson Hall; and brother, Ira Talmadge Hall Jr.
Mrs. Kirkland was born on Jan. 11, 1921. She received the Lord at eight years old. She loved the Lord and was a faithful servant. Mrs. Kirkland was retired after 30 years from Galena Park School system in Houston, Texas as a secretary. She lived in the Central Heights community for many years and was a member at Oakland Methodist Church.
Survivors include her daughter-in-law, Thersa Kirkland; sisters, Mary Hall Llewellyn, Jean Hall Jones (Edward) and Ann Hall Stahl (Robert); grandchildren, Kim Seely (Byron), Dana Kirkland (Stephanie), Kristi Talley, Christopher Kirkland (Stephanie) and Charlene Crawford (David). There are 26 great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; nieces and nephews.
Morrison Funeral Home, Central Heights, is directing.
