Lois Knight – Obituary

Lois Knight, 84, died Monday, September 26, 2016, at the Sanctuary Hospice House in Tupelo, MS after a lengthy illness. She was born in Sulligent, AL on December 11, 1931. A longtime resident of the Palmetto Community, Lois worked as a team leader at Hickory Springs Manufacturing and was a member of Old Union Baptist Church. Before her health began to fail, she enjoyed attending the Senior Citizens Center, reading and working in her flower garden.

Services will be 2 pm Friday at Ott’s Funeral Home in Sulligent, Alabama with visitation one hour prior to the service. Locally, visitation will be held at Lee Memorial Funeral Home on Thursday evening from 4-7 p.m. Lee Memorial Funeral Home is entrusted with the arrangements.

Lois is survived by her 2 children, Coy Wilson (Marilyn) of Sulligent and Lisa Roe (Robert) of Palmetto; 2 brothers, James Wilson (Diane) and Roy Wilson (Patsy), all of Vernon, AL; 3 grandchildren, Magan Kilgore (Matthew), Devin Roe, and Nikki Roe; 3 great-grandchildren, Hailey, Kylie, and Brayden Kilgore; and several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by first husband, Coy McKinney; her second husband, Billy C. Knight; her father, John C. Wilson and step mother, Bessie Wilson; her mother Clara Jenkins and step-father, George Jenkins; a sister, Jean Mills and a brother, Mike Cox.
