Our mother, Lois Jeanette Peebles, from Decatur, AL, passed away peacefully surrounded by her family on November 23, 2023. Visitation will be on Sunday, November 26 from 1:00pm until 2:00pm at Roselawn Funeral Home in Decatur, AL. Her Celebration of Life service will begin at 2:00pm with Brother Randy Berry officiating. She will be laid to rest at Roselawn Cemetery.
Our mother is survived by daughter, Sandy Lynn Peebles; daughter, Carla Mechell Peebles; son, Carl Christopher Peebles and daughter, Lena Inez Perez, all of Decatur, AL; grandchildren, Caitlyn Peebles, Jared Peebles, Mannon Roman, Janice Riveria Perez, Valerie Riveria Perez, and Kristal Suarez Perez; sister, Catherine Berry; brother, Roger Hudson and step-sister, Sandra Smith, all of Decatur, AL.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Carl Preston Peebles of 48 years; father, Manton Christopher Hudson; mother, Annie Inez Bracken and step brother, Jamie Jackson.
As a bus driver for Morgan County Schools for forty years, she transported generations back and forth to school. She loved God, family, and church. She was a member of Shoal Creek Baptist Church and spoke highly of her church ladies group and loved each member. Her grandchildren meant everything to her and she called them her angels. Her legacy is loving family and friends, going to church when you can, and telling as many people you love them each day.
