Lois Jean Henderson, 82, of Jasper, passed away peacefully and surrounded by her loved ones on Tuesday, April 19th, 2016, at Ridgeview Health Services.
Lois was born on August 20th, 1933. She was a member of Edgil Grove Baptist Church in Jasper. Lois loved the Lord and dedicated many hours to bible study and prayer. Lois married Charles Ellis Henderson on June 20th, 1950 and devoted her life to being a loving mother and homemaker. She was well known for her cooking, especially her banana pudding, pound cake, fried chicken, and biscuits. Lois enjoyed gardening and planting flowers. She loved animals and had many loyal dogs throughout the years. Above all, Lois cherished her family and enjoyed spending time with her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren.
Lois spent over two years at her second home, Ridgeview. During her time there, Lois was surrounded by nurses and staff who treated her with kindness and respect. They were more than her caretakers—they were her friends.
She was preceded in death by her mother Eula Ferguson Henderson, and her father Calvin Henderson, as well as her brother J.D. Scott, her husband Charles Ellis Henderson, and her daughter-in-law Donna Henderson.
Survivors include her son Danny Henderson (Deb), daughters Cindy Cox (Hancel), and Marie Herron (Joe). She is also survived by her grandchildren Leslie Aaron (Anthony), Chuck Henderson (Erin), Julie Mondalek (Jacob), Brandon Bahrik, Ben Cox (Heather), Brady Cox (Julie), Ryan Herron (Jordan), and Kayla Herron. Survivors also include her 16 great-grandchildren: Cody, Caleb, Reagan, and Max Aaron, Kobe Mason, Matthew and Owen Henderson, Blakeney, Chloe, Josie, Walker, and Kadence Cox, Cooper and Cody Cox, and Jameson and Jayla Herron.
Services will be held at Edgil Grove Baptist Church on Friday, April 22nd, 2016. Visitation will begin at 1:00 and the funeral ceremony will be held at 2:00. Hancel Cox and David Miller will officiate.
