Lois Elizabeth Simmons Lois Elizabeth “Bunnie” Simmons, age 90 of Goodlettsville, TN passed away Saturday, April 9, 2022 at Alive Hospice in Nashville. Her remains are to be cremated and a memorial service held at a later date.
She was born in Havana, Cuba, where her parents were missionaries, on July 9, 1931 to the late Joseph Robert and Maddie Frances McWilliam. She was also preceded in death by her siblings, Robert Hampton McWilliam, Joseph Livingston McWilliam and Novella McWilliam.
She was a member of the Ridgetop Seventh Day Adventist Church. She was a Girls Dean at Gem State Academy and various other locations for 27 years. She passionately loved her Lord and family very much. She loved music, piano, reading and cats. A favorite quote of hers was, “Women and cats are always right, men and dogs better get used to it!” She was a member of a Nazarene Church hand bell choir called the “Ding-a-lings” which she enjoyed very much.
She is survived by sons, Kent (Sharon) Simmons of Bakersfield, CA, Lee (Kathy) Simmons of Goodlettsville, TN; daughter at heart, Bethany Looyenga; grandchildren, Zachary Lee (Melissa) Simmons, Brian Scott (Chantelle) Simmons; great-grandchildren, Francesca Lee Simmons, Madeline Savannah Simmons, John Andrew Simmons and Judah Kent Simmons.
