Mrs. Lois Blanche (Petersen) Lawson, age 90, of Decatur, AL, died Thursday, September 15, 2016, at Decatur Health & Rehabilitation. She was born November 23, 1925, in Minnesota to Andrew and Blanche Petersen. She and her husband, Ralph Lawson, raised their family in Knoxville, TN. She was preceded in death by her husband, her parents, three brothers, two sisters, and one granddaughter, Wendy Lawson Barnette.
She is survived by two sons, Steve Lawson (Marty) of Decatur, AL, and Andy Lawson of Kailua-Lona, HI; one daughter, Judy Lawson Monroe (Mark) of Vicksburg, MS; three grandchildren, Jenny Karel (Nathan) of Vicksburg, MS, Susan Orman (Charles) of Vicksburg, MS, and Curt Lawson (Brooke) of Madison, AL; and eight great-grandchildren.
The family will arrange a memorial service in Elk Valley, TN at a later date.
In lieu of flowers, the family respectfully requests memorial donations be made to Wesley Memorial United Methodist Church, Decatur, AL.
