F.06.26.24 Lloyd D Brooks.jpg Lloyd D. Brooks, 86, Tuscumbia, passed away on Sunday, June 23, 2024. Visitation will be Thursday, June 27, from 12:00 – 2:00 p.m. at Morrison Funeral Home, Tuscumbia. The funeral service will immediately follow in the funeral home chapel with Hollis Rutherford officiating. Interment will be in Colbert Memorial Gardens, Tuscumbia.

Lloyd was a lifelong resident of Colbert County and a member of the Washington Masonic Lodge #36, Tuscumbia. He retired as an operator with USS Agrichemical in Cherokee. Lloyd was a great father, husband, and an awesome Paw-Paw, and loved his beloved dog, “Buddy.” He was a talented handyman and could fix anything that was broken. Lloyd enjoyed playing music and piddling in the garage. He loved fishing, planting gardens, and riding his tractor. He was preceded in death by his parents, Ray and Mary Brooks; brothers, Howard, Curtis, Homer, David, and Grover Brooks; and sisters, Evelyn Tubbs and Bertha Mitchell.

Lloyd is survived by his loving wife of sixty-seven years, Doris Brooks; children, Rickey Brooks (Chaun), Donna Kelley (Tracy), and Kevin Brooks (Lajuanna); sister, Melvina Willis; grandchildren, Christi Hand (Josh), Lyndsey Brooks (Dakota), Lexi Brooks, Chris Brooks (Amanda), Heather Brooks, Michael and Danielle Inman, Chris Vines, and Maya and Mack Stafford; great-grandchildren, Chastin, Summer, and Karley Hand, Alyssa, Emma, Aleyah, Sawyer, Huntley, and Lilly Grace Brooks, Milli Fuller, Karson Ezekiel, Arya Heaton, and Wesley Stafford; and great-great-granddaughter, baby Alexandria, due in August; and several nieces and nephews.

Pallbearers will be Michael Inman, Tracy Smith, Josh Hand, Chris Brooks, Braden Thompson and Kenny Brooks.

The family offers special thanks to the staff of Compassus Hospice Care for taking great care of the man that we love so much.
