A celebration of life for Lisa Matkin, 56, of Somerville, will be Monday, March 21, 2022, at 2:00PM at Highland Baptist Church with Bro. Freddy Childs officiating. Mrs. Matkin was born May 9, 1965 to Bobby Whitaker and Billy June Whitaker. Mrs. Matkin Died on March 19, 2022, at her residence. She was a loving wife, mother and a member of Shepherd’s Chapel in Gravette, Arkansas.
It would be wrong to say that Lisa lost her battle because she never stopped fighting. No matter how sick she was, she was always determined. When anyone else would have broken, Lisa stayed strong. Through her, we know what resilience and perseverance truly looks like. There was no quit in Lisa. Just because she is no longer here, it doesn’t mean she lost her fight. Mrs. Matkin was preceded in death by her parents.
