A Funeral Service for Lisa Cryer Pitman, 63, of Somerville (Cotaco) will be Thursday, June 27, 2024 at 6:00 PM at Red Oak Grove Church with the Reverend John Dees officiating and Peck Funeral Home directing. Burial will be in the adjoining cemetery. Visitation will be from 4:00 PM to 6:00 PM at Red Oak Grove Church.
Ms. Pitman, who died Monday, June 24, 2024 was born August 13, 1960 in Decatur, Alabama to Josephine “Ozelle” Kitchens Cryer and Hubert Garland Cryer.
Lisa was a registered nurse for many years before retiring to work for the Alabama College of Osteopathic Medicine. She was a member of Cotaco United Methodist Church in Cotaco. She was preceded in death by her parents, Ozelle and Hubert Cryer; one brother, Sonny Cryer, and one sister, Martha Jo Holmes.
She is survived by a husband of 37 years, Marlin Hilton Pitman, two sons, Charles Garland Pitman (Christie), and David Marlin Pitman (Andria), Four Grandsons, Sam, Ben, Chandler, and Sonny Pitman; one grand-daughter Millia Parker; and a special friend, Paul Elsea.
Pallbearers will be Brad King, Noel King, Harold Fowler, Steve Maxwell, Marcus Huskey and Sam Pitman.
Honorary Pallbearers will be Chandler Pitman, Ben Pitman and Sonny Pitman.
Lisa loved shoes. In lieu of flowers, donations of children’s shoes may be made to Clothe Our Kids of North Alabama, 4511 US Hwy 31 South, Decatur, Alabama 35601.
