Linnie Terry Thomas, 96, of Morgan City and Decatur, passed away September 2 in Decatur.She was preceded in death by her parents, Eulas Thurman Terry and Allie Fuller Terry; her husband James Elbert Thomas; her sister Dorothy Terry McKay; and brothers Eulas, Paul and Neal Terry.
She is survived by her children and stepchildren Malcolm Gary Fields (Mary Jo), Sharon Elizabeth Fields Fahrer (David), Janet Thomas Greenlee (Stephen), Jada Thomas Douglas (Joseph), and Lisa Thomas Mayo (Robert); grandchildren and step grandchildren Zack, Grady, Autumn, Jeremy, Julie, Todd, Matthew, Jill and Thomas; 14 great grandchildren and great great-grandchildren; and by nieces, nephews, and great nieces and nephews.
Upon graduation from high school, Linnie began working for the telephone company as a telephone operator. She retired from South Central Bell after 32 years of work.
She was a long-time member of the Pine Ridge Baptist Church in Morgan City.
A visitation will be held Friday, September 6, at 1 p.m. at the chapel at Roselawn Funeral Home, with the funeral to follow at 3 p.m. She will be laid to rest at Roselawn Cemetery.
