Mrs. Linna “Adair” Minor went home to our Heavenly Father Friday, January 19, 2024, at the young age of 89. Linna was raised in the small community of Ramah, TN. She grew up on the family farm with most of her 20 siblings and half siblings. She worked hard tending the animals and “chopping cotton” in neighboring farms. Linna moved to Florence after graduating from Loretto High School. Linna was working at ECM Hospital when she married Tommy Minor, Sr. They lived in Detroit, Michigan when she gave birth to her son, Tommy “Ray” Minor, Jr. Linna and family settled back in Florence where she made a career in retail foods at the Sunbeam Bread Store, and Shop Rite Foodland on Huntsville Road. All the while, having success selling Avon in her free time. She and her beloved husband enjoyed travel and entertaining. Linna loved her family and had many friends. She was always helping her neighbors and friends and was loved by everyone who knew her. Linna was a beam of sunshine for all to see.
Visitation will be Friday, January 26, 2024 from 12-1 p.m. at Greenview Funeral Home. The funeral service will begin at 1 p.m. in the funeral home chapel with Brother Brian McIntyre officiating. Burial will follow in Greenview Memorial Park.
Linna was preceded in death by her husband, Tommy Minor, Sr.; father, Robert Lonnie Adair; Mother, Bertha Gemima Emaline Melton; sister, Lorraine Laney; and brother, Elmer Quinton Adair.
She is survived by her son, Tommy Ray Minor, Jr. (Jackie); grandsons, Matthew Douglas Minor (Jessica), Tyler Hamilton Brannon (Vanessa); great-grandchildren, Kaelyn and Madison Minor, and Gaven and Daniel Handshumacher; siblings, Glinna Reynolds, Robert “Tarzan” Adair (Diana), Lawrence Landon Adair (Ruth), Rhasye Dale Price, Mattie Lovella Strandling, Hallye Roberta Pearce (Neal), Virginia “Jenny” Brown (Bill); half siblings, Ira, Alton, Gertis, and Emma Adair, Sally Orear, and Maggalin and Eva Smith.
The family would like to extend heartfelt thanks to Mitchell Hollingsworth, with special love to the dedicated staff in Station 4. We also appreciate the care in her last few days given by Southern Care New Beacon Hospice.
