Linder ‘Linda” Kay Evans, 80, of Lexington, TN passed away on December 11, 2023 peacefully in the comfort of her home surrounded by her children, the two most precious treasures in her earthly life.
Born on July 25, 1943 in Alamo, TN by Fred Clayton and Opal Stephenson Branch, she was the fifth daughter of six siblings.
She worked in many different professions, but her most admirable role was that of being both parents to two young children. In addition to a lady of many trades, she lived many places and traveled where her heart led, which was always back home to Tennessee where she’d enjoy the occasional picnic, soaking up the outdoors.
Linda had a creative mind, an adventurous spirit, and a heart full of love for her family and the Lord. As in life, there are many moments of suffering, but her faith never wavered, imparting a wisdom that she happily passed down to generations. She fought through life with wit and determination, always letting the troubles that arose “roll off her like a duck”.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her late husband, Ronny Ralph Evans; her sisters, Carolyn Bell, Donna May, and Jeannetta Boling; and her brother, Joe Branch.
She is survived by her two children, Rhonda Lynn Evans and Aaron Ralph Evans (Mary); a sister, Connie Johnson; nine grandchildren; fifteen great grandchildren; and many nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. All of which will miss her terribly!
Her memorial service will be held at First United Methodist Church in Lexington on Wednesday, December 13, 2023 at 1:00 PM.
